Apple to build more iCloud apps

Based on a recent job posting on Apple's corporate Web site, Apple is looking to expand its iCloud offerings with new and innovative applications to better utilize the server-based technologies it offers iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch users.

Apple hiring iOS engineers for Siri development

According to the descriptions of recent jobs posting on its Web site, Apple is looking for iOS engineers to join its Siri development team to help implement user interface (UI) design for the voice-activated assistant included on every iPhone 4S.

The primary objective of the first position would be to help develop the look and feel of the conversational UI elements while using Siri. Rumor: Apple to bring iPhone to Sprint

A recent job posting from Apple hints at a possible budding relationship with Sprint that could bring the iPhone to one of the leaders in 4G technology. Stop it, AT&T, a blog focused on "activism against bandwidth caps and monopolistic behavior," has uncovered a job posting that may strengthen earlier rumors that Sprint is closer to having an iPhone running on its network.

The posting is for a new member for Apple's Carrier Engineering team, responsible for:

Apple job ads seek Voice Control experts for iOS

In a few recent job postings noticed by AppleInsider, Apple has perhaps given a hint as to its future plans for iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads, looking for qualified individuals to bolster its Voice Control and syncing departments.

This is not the first search for Voice Control experts in which Apple has engaged. Back in December Apple was looking for new hires "specializing in voice technologies such as speech recognition, iOS software development for speech applications, and speech research."

Now, Apple is looking for three iOS Speech Operations Engineers to help develop the Voice Control functionality of iOS devices. Some of the more-advanced skills that Apple is looking for include:

Demonstrated experience deploying and configuring large numbers of Xen VM instances.

Demonstrated experience working with ssh, kickstart, bind, postfix, nagios; iptables, sed, awk, curl.

Demonstrated experience with configuring loadbalancing and firewalls.

Demonstrated experience with Nuance Recognizer, IBM WebSphere Voice, Google Voice, or similar voice search tool.
