Test your time management skills with Hello Kitty Cafe

Although Hello Kitty Cafe wasn't created with an educational intent, the player, which in this case is a kid age 9 or above, is responsible for running a Hello Kitty restaurant. As a result, players will learn time management and efficient work tactics. However, as the player progresses, the accelerated pace as well as the multiple options available could affect the user experience. Also, the temptation for in-app purchases will be high to make the game successful.

PETA thinks 'Hello Doggy' car wraps are a Smart idea

Inspired by the iconic and cute Hello Kitty wraps for the Smart ForTwo, the People of the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is asking for "Hello Doggy" wraps, too.

In a letter to Smart USA President Jill Lajdziak, PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman said that the animal rights organization wants to partner with Smart USA to offer "a 'Hello Doggy' Smart ForTwo wrap--in the same cute style as your recently introduced Hello Kitty wrap, but this wrap would be a public service," the letter said.

In the letter, PETA reports that 6 million to 8 … Read more

Hello Kitty wraps for Smart cars not a wise idea

Hello Kitty invaded gift shops 35 years ago, and since then has killed everything in its path---speakers, keyboards, phone rechargers, even chainsaws--with cuteness. Now even Smart car owners can wrap their vehicles in the iconic Japanese feline.

Sanrio, which is celebrating it's 50th anniversary, has partnered with Smart to bring three Hello Kitty full-body designs to Smart cars.

The wraps come with a three-year warranty. Pricing starts at $550 for partial wraps (two-door panel) and $1,700 for full wraps.

"Our collaboration with smart USA allows fans to truly embrace the Hello Kitty lifestyle," said … Read more

X-mini capsule speaker goes pink with Hello Kitty

Ready for this? Yes, it's another feline invasion of the lipless kind, this time in the shape of pink and white X-mini Hello Kitty Capsule Speakers. Given that the cat's incapable of articulating anything, this makes for an odd pairing.

Still, Singapore vendor XMI, which dropped by CNET Asia's labs to surprise us with this Kitty outing, believes this to be a sound investment. Its CEO, Ryan Lee, hopes to snag the other half of a demographic that has been predominantly male.

Will the female set see this Hello Kitty mini boombox as a must-have accessory in … Read more

Hello Kitty chainsaw here to massacre us all

I'm almost cut up to pieces over which is more disturbing. That Hello Kitty hearts a chainsaw, literally, with pink ones on the serrated blade. Or that there might be a "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" sequel with Leatherface wielding a Hello Kitty chainsaw to dismember his victims. Certainly, kawaii (cute) is the last thing that comes to mind here. And we thought she was so sweet and harmless, too.

Hello Kitty gets her own Twitter client

The famous mouthless feline is back, and this time she's prepared to grace your iPhone in the form of a Twitter client.

Probably as recognizable as Mickey Mouse, Hello Kitty is an icon that has appeared in a wide range of products including wine, solar charger, PCs, Darth Vadar, Stormtrooper, and even a Taser gun. So it comes as no surprise that the cute cat has made the leap to the competitive iPhone App Store for tweens all over the world--and even guys who want to explore their feminine side.

It's priced at $3.99 and can be … Read more
