The 'Arrested Development' fighting game we must play

Internet, we love you, but why must you dangle before us things we cannot have?

Brian K. Anderson, the YouTube user who brought us the Lego Breaking Bad video game parody, has done it again -- this time with one of our favorite TV shows of all time, "Arrested Development."

In BluthFighter -- a mashup with Street Fighter -- we get to see GOB Bluth square off against Tobias Fünke in full blue-man regalia and never-nude short-shorts, tagging out for Tony Wonder and Carl Weathers, with such awesome moves as the Segway Slam. Who we'd really love to see is Lucille, possibly dealing out Martini Haymakers. … Read more

IObit Malware Fighter gets modernized in version 2.0

IObit's latest version release brings Malware Fighter to 2.0 and showcases a much more eye-popping design that is more consistent with the modern look and feel of Windows 8.

You'll be greeted with four basic options: Scan, Protect, Update, and Action Center. Since version 1.7, IObit's latest design feels much cleaner and certainly more intuitive for the average user. The original overview graph that the previous version opened with is now tucked away.

Previously included features like cloud scanning and quarantine lists are still present, but reside in a more modernized settings panel to the … Read more

Street Fighter 1.0 Review

Fans of the classic arcade game Street Fighter may be looking for a way to play it on modern devices. Street Fighter delivers a good gaming experience, but its questionable copyright status makes it difficult to recommend.

Street Fighter is available as a free application. Download and installation took place quickly, but some of the permissions required for installation, such as phone access, are difficult to justify. There also did not appear to be any technical support available. Upon startup, the application immediately states that playing the application in the United States, Canada, or Japan, may be in violation of … Read more

Wells Fargo site hit by denial-of-service attack

Wells Fargo was the target of another distributed denial-of-service attack.

The bank's Web site was slowed down by the attack yesterday, affecting a certain number of customers, according to Fox Business News.

"Yesterday we saw an unusually high volume of Web site traffic which we believe was a denial of service attack," a Wells Fargo spokeswoman told CNET today. "The vast majority of customers were not impacted and customer information is safe. For customers who had difficulty accessing the site, we encouraged them to call us by phone, use ATMs or try logging on again as … Read more

X-wing fighter bunk bed built for lucky young Jedi

Ambitious geek parents who want to build "Star Wars"-themed furniture for their kids have a lot to live up to. After all, we've already seen an impressive handmade AT-AT bed. That didn't stop Imgur user DarthDaddy42 from tackling the creation of an X-wing fighter bunk bed for his son.

The bunk bed consists of a large X-wing on top and a full sleeping space below (with "Star Wars" blankets, naturally). A ladder connects the two pieces, offering access to the cockpit above. There's a flat-screen TV aimed at the front window and an R2-D2 cooler to provide navigation and keep drinks chilled.… Read more

X-Wing Fighter coffee table goes galactic in your living room

If Luke Skywalker had a living room with a big-screen TV, he would also have a hand-carved X-Wing Fighter coffee table made of wood and glass. The detailed model looks like it's in mid-flight, except instead of blasting the forces of the Dark Side, it's calmly guarding your coffee.

The table is designed so that half of the spaceship is above the glass and half is below. That means it takes up quite a bit of space that could otherwise hold mugs, half-eaten bags of Doritos, and vintage issues of "Starlog" magazine. Still, the design is so cool, you won't miss having the extra room.… Read more

Capcom releases Street Fighter x Megaman for free

Capcom dropped a Christmas gift to the public today: the free release of Street Fighter X Megaman. It's still in all its 8-bit glory and makes my 6-year-old gamer spirit tingle with nostalgia.

SFxMM is a fan-made game cover of Megaman, an old 8-bit platformer that lived on the original Nintendo Entertaiment System since the late '80s/early '90s. The mechanics of the game are simple: run, shoot, jump and slide through each stage until you reach the boss at the end. Though the game is centered around the Blue Bomber himself, most of the fan service seems to … Read more
