The result is a native-feeling extension of the Evernote platform and a useful tool for anyone that uses sticky notes, regularly.

To be sure, this application is only useful for those that use Sticky Notes in Windows 7 on a regular basis. Additionally, you will need to log in to Evernote to verify your account and give the … Read more

Evernote locks down three new security features

Evernote, the popular note-taking app available on the Web and on mobile devices, has some new security features.

The company announced the new features on its blog on Thursday, saying that it's now offering three security tools that it didn't before. First up is two-step verification, which requires that users input both a password and a security code that can be sent to their mobile device. The company says that the two-step verification will only happen when users install Evernote on a device or access the service from the Web. It's also optional, so it can be … Read more

If you use Evernote to organize your life, then your life just got more organized. Evernote updated its iOS, Mac, and Web apps to include reminders, which is "one of the most requested features of all time," said Andrew Sinkov, Evernote's VP of marketing.

I updated Evernote on my Mac and iPhone to try out reminders. On the Mac app, you'll see a small alarm clock icon in the upper-right corner when viewing your notes. Click on it to set a reminder. You can then add a date for the reminder. Evernote provides a button for … Read more

Evernote unveils ambitions to build hardware devices

Evernote has enjoyed great success developing note-taking software. Now Chief Executive Phil Libin is broadly hinting that the company's ambitions include taking a big step beyond software.

In an interview with the IDG News Service in Tokyo, where he was attending a conference, Libin, who obviously knows how to grab a headline, did not offer many more details. He said the company does not plan to do the manufacturing itself but would codesign the still-mysterious product (or products.)

"Eventually, in a few years -- three, four, five -- I think we'll be ready to do something ourselves,&… Read more
