Dropbox has acquired streaming-music provider Audiogalaxy in a move that suggests the file-sharing service might be getting ready to launch a cloud music offering.
The Seattle-based startup announced the acquisition in a blog post on its Web site but did not reveal the financial details of the deal. As part of the acquisition, Audiogalaxy said it has ceased accepting new signups and playlists will only be available to users until the end of December:

PARIS -- Dropbox plans to launch a version of its software that will let Windows 8 customers use the file-sharing service on the Microsoft's new operating system.
"We are going to be launching our client app for Windows 8," said Aditya Agarwal, Dropbox's vice president of engineering, speaking at the LeWeb conference here. Cloud storage company Dropbox has reached 100 million users, and to celebrate it's giving away gigabytes.

Facebook users can now share their Dropbox-stored files from inside their Facebook groups, the cloud storage service announced today.
The two companies have partnered up to roll out the new integration today. Soon, all users will have the Dropbox option in their groups.
