Mother's Day is only a couple of weeks away, and that can mean only one thing: The floodgates are about to unleash a torrent of digital photo frames.

While we've never understood the attraction of this wildly overproduced product category--especially those that are larger than life--we've long acknowledged the usefulness of Ceiva's networked variety to keep in touch with long-distance loved ones. Ceiva playing at a fridge near you

Having conquered the living rooms of grandparents everywhere, Ceiva's digital photo frames have set their sights on a new target--the refrigerator door. As ridiculous as that might sound, it's really the next logical step in kitchen-media convergence: We've already seen a steady rise in fridge TVs from Samsung, LG and other manufacturers, after all.

Kodak's new digital photo frames have Wi-Fi, play sound and video

A few months back, when we asked Kodak reps why the company wouldn't have its new digital photo frames available in time for the 2006 holiday buying season, they said it was because the frames that Kodak would announce at CES 2007 were going to be ambitious, and the company needed time to get them right.
