C Spire launches shared data plans December 3

Following Verizon and AT&T, regional carrier C Spire will soon let customers share a pool of data among multiple devices.

C Spire's shared data plan follows Verizon's model of charging a fee for devices to access the data allotment, in addition to a monthly charge for the data itself. Up to 10 devices can draw from the data pool.

C Spire nabs its own Samsung Galaxy S III

It's clear that Samsung wants its flagship Samsung Galaxy S III to be ubiquitous.

In addition to selling it on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular in the upcoming weeks, the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich phone will also sell on C Spire Wireless, formerly Cellular South.

Today, the regional carrier announced the Galaxy S III as its debut handset for the 4G LTE network it plans to launch in September to 20 Mississippi markets.

C Spire will announce the Galaxy S III's pricing and availability "in the coming weeks."

Regional carriers call AT&T's bluff on spectrum interference

A group of regional wireless carriers is calling AT&T's bluff when it comes to claimed interference issues in the lower spectrum bands of the 700 MHz frequency.

On Tuesday, Cavalier Wireless, C Spire Wireless, Continuum 700, King Street Wireless, MetroPCS Communications, U.S. Cellular, and Vulcan Wireless filed a report to the Federal Communications Commission detailing results from a test conducted that shows there are no interference issues between devices operating in other parts of the 700 MHz spectrum frequency bands and the broadcast TV channel 51, which is right next to the lower A block portion … Read more
