A freeware package for noncommercial use, EasyBCD is designed to help manage and control startup operations. It works with the later Windows operating systems, including Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8, both 32-bit and 64-bit. It also works with Linux and Mac systems.

Verizon officially supports locked bootloaders

In a letter to the FCC, Verizon has finally expressed its ardent support of arranged marriages locked bootloaders.

Essentially, Verizon argues it knows better than its users which kind of bride or groom user experience its ungrateful children customers prefer--why spend each day with the love of your life some unstable mod when you can have your socially inept second cousin MotoBlur instead?

Asus announces Transformer Prime ICS date, addresses GPS and bootloader issues

When Asus unveiled its Honeycomb-powered Transformer Prime tablet last November, it stated that Ice Cream Sandwich would be on the tablet by year's end. As owners of the tablet can tell you, that didn't pan out. However, according to its Facebook page, the company will begin pushing the update to Prime owners worldwide, starting January 12.

HTC gives timeline for unlocking bootloaders

HTC shared some good news for a relatively small but enthusiastic group of its customers tonight, announcing a general time frame for unlocking bootloaders on some of its phones.

Unlocking a phone in this manner allows more-advanced users far more customization than is possible with a typical phone. And while the number of people who are interested in tinkering with their phones to this degree may be small, that group is a passionate--and vocal--one.
