The 404 1,293: Where it's in that place where I put that thing that time (podcast)

Leaked from today's 404 episode:

- So weird: Bruins fans watched tons of porn after they lost on Monday night.

Chrome clone

The browser wars continue, and many developers are taking the best features from the most popular browsers and trying to create something even better. BlackHawk Web Browser is a variation on Google Chrome that claims to have the speed of Chrome and the functionality of Firefox. We're not sure that the browser really brings anything special to the table, but it works just fine.

BlawkHawk's interface is extremely similar to Chrome's; the color scheme is slightly different, and there are menus across the top instead of in one dropdown menu as in Chrome, but otherwise they're … Read more

The 404 263: Where Comic Sans is a poor excuse for a font

The Warrior Wear Integrated Tourniquet System by Blackhawk Products Group has eight tourniquets; four in the pants and four in the shirt (two in the short sleeve version), which may, in case of injury, be constricted immediately with one hand by the wearer, their buddy or … Read more

Tell time just like Jack Bauer

Now you too can be as cool as Jack Bauer (though you'll have to lose the Lightsaber first, sorry). The "MTM BlackHawk" that co-stars with him on 24 is available for civilian purchase from U.K.-based Special Ops Watches. So what do you get for $645? Tech Digest says it has an "internal lighting mode" for viewing in the dark and an orange "external lighting mode" that can be seen for more than a mile in times of distress. Yes, it sounds a bit pricey to us as well for what you … Read more
