Already? A representative of the Battlefield franchise announced today that gamers should expect a Battlefield 4 beta around fall 2013. The news comes several weeks after EA quietly noted that if you preorder Medal of Honor: Warfighter, you get a free beta invite to Battlefield 4.

Those who adore a symphony of gunfire and explosions should pay close attention to the upcoming Battlefield 3 downloadable content pack Close Quarters.

Xbox 360 scores huge sales win in January

The Xbox 360 is still scoring big amidst a slump in overall gaming sales.

Microsoft's hot gaming console was the best-selling platform in the U.S. in January, its 13th month in a row at the top of the charts, NPD Group said yesterday.

For January, Microsoft sold 270,000 Xbox 360s, grabbing 49 percent of the console market last month. Revealing the hottest and fastest-growing search terms for 2011, Google found a number of tech-related items in the Top 10.
