New Netgear NeoTV Prime player: Full Web access on TV and much more

LAS VEGAS--Netgear showed off today at CES 2013 the latest in its line of NeoTV streaming players, the NeoTV Prime with Google TV (model GTV100).

The new player offers everything that previous players offered, plus the ability to run apps from Google Play. The player allows you to access a large pool of entertainment including movies, TV shows, and music from major streaming services such as Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Instant Video, HBO Go, Crackle, Flixter, Rhapsody, Pandora, and more. Netgear adds Slingbox live TV to NeoTV players

LAS VEGAS--Netgear's NeoTV player's feature list just went up a notch today.

Netgear announced at CES 2013 that it has added Sling Media's SlingPlayer to its line of NeoTV players: the NeoTV (NTV300), NeoTV Pro (NTV300S), the NeoTV Max (NTV300SL), and the just-announced NeoTV Prime with Google TV (GTV100).

Netgear goes after Roku with NeoTV

The Roku 2 XS is currently our pick for best media-streaming solution under $100, but today Netgear looks to stiffen the competition with NeoTV, the company's latest Internet-connected TV add-on for just $80.

Using an HDMI and Wi-Fi (or Ethernet) connection, NeoTV offers up a handful of media channels including the standard Netflix and YouTube portals as well as Vudu, Pandora, Napster, Picasa, Revision 3, and more. Users can also use their iPhone or Android device as a remote control.

Netgear to ship HD network media players

There have been a slew of network high-def digital media players on the market lately, and soon there are going to be even more.

Netgear announced Tuesday two new HD media players: the NeoTV 350 HD and the NeoTV 550 Ultimate. Similar to the Seagate GoFlex TV or the WD TV Live Plus, the NeoTV players are designed to play back digital content stored on USB external hard drives, network storage devices, or the Internet.
