'Driver' races out of history and onto iPhones

Let's just come right out and call this the Year of Resurrected PC Games. So far in 2009 we've seen iPhone recreations of Civilization, Command & Conquer, Doom, Myst, and even the ancient Lemonade Stand.

Earlier this month, Gameloft brought back one of my favorites: Driver. I know, I know, the game first appeared on the PlayStation, but it's the PC version I remember.

Set in the '70s (with a funk-a-licious soundtrack to match), Driver casts you as an undercover cop trying to expose a national crime ring.

Musical waterbed: Perfect for '70s disco

So maybe that iPod stool wasn't such a dumb idea after all. That, at least, is what we thought after seeing this musical waterbed.

Believe it or not, it's actually not the first of its kind that we've seen, though there are far more traditional non-aquatic iPod beds, of course. Now it's taking on the retro trend with '70s-style stereo that could be right out of a Marantz catalog at the height of the disco era (but better). It should be noted here that there's good '70s and bad '70s retro, by the way.

Clean lines are an understatement … Read more

A TV for people who miss the '70s

Do you remember the TV you had in the '70s? We're prepared to bet that if you do, you'll also remember that it had a sort of plastic wood veneer finish. Well, Hannspree, famous for its adorable fluffy TVs, has decided to throw the LCD kicking and screaming back into the decade of disco. Perhaps it's watched a little bit too much Life on Mars.

From the front, you'd possibly never realise there's anything different about this TV. It has a normal, matte-black finish and sits atop two silver feet that Hannspree describes as "… Read more
