Four great action-game deals for PC

So many great games, so little time. Actually, I don't mind carving out the time (who needs sleep?)--it's dropping $40-50 on a single game that pains me.

Fortunately, as I've mentioned many times before, if you don't mind being patient, game prices can and will drop--sometimes steeply. Today, I've rounded up four top-rated games (for Windows) that are all fairly recent, and all heavily discounted. Do we need the Internet for a revolution?

In the last two years I have read at least a dozen books that champion the Internet as the key to personal and political freedom. Scholars and academics have come to see digital communication as a near messiah in power and prescience.

Microsoft sued over refunds on Windows copies

A class action lawsuit against Microsoft has been filed in Italy by a group claiming that it's too difficult to procure a refund for the copies of Windows that come bundled in new PCs.

The case, which was filed in Milan by the Associazione per i Diritti degli Utenti e Consumatori (ADUC), and picked up by The Register earlier today, points to Microsoft's end user license agreement (EULA)--as outlined in various copies of Windows--noting that once users turn their computer on and begin to use it, they are no longer able to return the software for a … Read more

Of course, now that AMC's incredible "The Walking Dead" has ended its first season, you'll need something to tide you over until the flesh-eaters rise again. Dead Rising Mobile It's the classic story: man travels to small town, discovers it's been overrun by zombies, and holes up in the local mall--where said zombies arrive in wave after wave. Dead Rising Mobile ($4.99) won't win any beauty contests, but it offers a few cool twists.

Sling Media 'very close' to launching iPad app

Yes, folks, the much-anticipated SlingMobile Player for iPad app is almost here. We can't tell you exactly when this baby will appear in the App Store--or how much it will cost--but a company rep sent us an e-mail saying the company was "this close" to releasing the app and pointed us to a YouTube Video demo.
