Huawei promised CNET some 4G LTE action, and with the Huawei Activa 4G, the phone maker is ready to deliver.

Verizon CTO: 4G LTE international roaming is coming

Global roaming is coming to Verizon Wireless 4G LTE devices, but subscribers shouldn't expect to be able to use those devices on other U.S. carrier LTE networks, according to Verizon Communications chief technology officer.

Speaking at a press event at the Telecommunications Industry Association event here today, Tony Melone, Verizon's chief technology officer, said that Verizon Wireless will eventually offer global roaming for its 4G LTE smartphones, tablets and network cards for both 3G HSPA networks as well as other 4G LTE networks operating overseas. HTC: Our phones don't infringe Apple patent

HTC believes it's free and clear of infringing on a key Apple patent despite allegations to the contrary by the iPhone maker.

This week, Apple filed its third complaint against HTC in the past three years with the U.S. International Trade Commission. The company is alleging that HTC is still violating the same Apple patents that triggered a recent ban on imports of the HTC One X and Evo 4G LTE.

Verizon sunsets double LTE promo June 5

Promotions come and go, but many will be sad to see Verizon's generous offer of double the 4G LTE data for the price of one revert to the standard rate.

Verizon customers will have until June 5 to lock into monthly data rates of 4GB for $30, 10GB for $50, and 20GB for $80, according to Gotta Be Mobile.

AT&T today continues its slow march toward a full LTE rollout in its footprint by switching on its fastest 4G speeds for Cleveland, Ohio.

Another analyst is eyeing a September or October debut for the next iPhone.

Picking up on the same launch time frame as the iPhone 4S, the iPhone 5 would likely be here before or by October, according to RBC analyst Amit Daryanani. Nvidia qualifies its first LTE modem for tablets on AT&T

Nvidia first LTE modem is ready for AT&T's network.

The Icera 410 LTE modem chipset for tablets and laptops has been tested and validated for operation on the AT&T 4G LTE network, the Santa Clara, Calif. chip supplier said today.

"Validation with AT&T...paves the way for Nvidia Icera-powered LTE devices on the AT&T network through this year and next," Stan Boland, senior vice president of mobile communications at Nvidia, said in a statement.
