Iterasi goes live with personal Web-archiving tool

Web bookmarking tool Iterasi just launched the first version of its Firefox extension to people who have signed up for the beta. The service, which I wrote about in January, lets you capture a Web site in its entirety, complete with links, formatting, and a time stamp to help sort it out later.

Delicious beta arrives for Firefox 3

Well, it took a few months, but Yahoo on Wednesday caught up to Firefox 3 with a beta plug-in for its Delicious bookmarking service.

The Firefox add-on for Delicious "now has full Firefox 3 support while retaining Firefox 2 compatibility," said Nick Nguyen, senior product manager for Delicious, in a blog posting.

Delicious lets people save their bookmarks online, tag them with descriptive keywords, and share them with other Delicious members.

Confirmed: Mister Wong acquires Lifestream.fm

It's gossip no more: as rumored, Germany-based social-bookmarking site Mister Wong has acquired the social-media feed aggregator Lifestream.fm for an undisclosed amount. The news was originally reported on digital-media blog Mashable.

Mister Wong previously acquired Websnapr and Pixer.us, which were both created by Lifestream.fm founder Juan Xavier Larea.

Technology from Lifestream will likely be integrated into Mister Wong user profiles so that members can pull in feeds from their social-networking accounts across the Web.

Fix broken icons in Firefox bookmarks

Do your Firefox bookmark icons ever break? For instance, I have a bookmark to the CNET Intranet but the Last.FM logo is next to it. Not horrible, I know, but annoying.

Here's how to fix improper icons that, for one reason or another, may show up in the Firefox browser.

Google's photo and bookmarking missteps

For all the company's overall success, some of its individual entrants sometimes seem not just lagging and wanting, but sometimes just plain... off.

I'm not so much talking here about sites like Orkut and Google Video that were more-or-less representative of and competitive with social media and video sharing sites (respectively) at the time they came on the scene. Shifd reimagines the desktop Post-It note

Here at Adobe's Engage event in South San Francisco, one of the services getting some buzz is The New York Times' social-bookmarking tool Shifd. It's a neat idea--give users a place to write and share little notes between their PCs and mobile phones, while providing a way to publish those notes to social services people are already using.
