Back in August, the Boy Genius Report posted the first images of what was said to be an Evo 4G-like device destined for Verizon. Described as polished and being at the "very upper-end of the market," the images of the phone revealed a sleek handset with a 4.3-inch touch screen, an 8-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, and a front-facing camera. But just as quickly as the phone came onto our radar, it went away.
Engadget obtained a couple of images that show a very sleek-looking LG handset bearing Verizon Wireless branding.
As Engadget reports, there are very few details to share at this point, but looking closely at the touch-only phone, you can discern what appears to be a screen in the range of 4 inches or larger with a high-definition camera on the back. The right side should have a volume rocker and microSD card, and a dedicated camera button should sit on the left side. The striping down the middle of the back side appears to include logos for both DLNA and … Read more
The January release of a Verizon iPhone remains unconfirmed, but we may have still more grist for the ever-churning rumor mill. Call centers connected to the wireless carrier and Apple are hiring hundred of new positions over the next three months, according to job postings spotted by CNET.
The hiring companies, Salt Lake City-based Teleperformance and Kennesaw, Ga.-based Ryla, are hiring at facilities around the country, with Ryla advertising for 1,700 positions in Indiana, California, Virginia, and Colorado.
I was advised not to have a heavy Saturday night. Sunday was going to be an intense start to some pretty hard-core training on one of the most demanding roads in the world. So, naturally, I found myself slumped in a seat on a flight to Frankfurt with a hangover that could slay a silverback being stared at by a man in a suit.
Why was he staring at me? Clear look of a man in distress aside, I was concentrating as hard as I could on a PS Vita, and an adult playing video games … Read more
The next few months should bring us a few more Android phone announcements coming from Verizon. According to information obtained by Android Central, the nation's largest carrier has at least four new devices expected in the fourth quarter. Look for pair of Motorola models, and offerings from HTC and LG.
The first Motorola phone, the Droid Pro, was announced earlier this month at CTIA. Bearing a very BlackBerry-esque form factor with enhanced enterprise security features, the Android 2.2 smartphone offers a 3.1-inch HVGA touch screen with a QWERTY keyboard below. Other details include a 1GHz processor, a … Read more
There is a ritual before Apple unveils something new. It's the ritual of rumor, leakage, and misdirection.
The rumors about Monday's Apple event suggest that the company is to reveal a new MacBook Air, perhaps a smaller MacBook Air, one that would fit into at least one of the pockets of a Gucci jacket. Well, perhaps.
So now it is time for leakage. Right on time, Engadget produces an image of what might, possibly, maybe, perhaps, could be the innards of a new MacBook Air.
However, and please move away from sharp objects and people you care about, … Read more
Update: CNET's full, rated review of the Samsung Galaxy Tab is now available.
Those of you who have been waiting for some glimmer of hope in the tablet wars will be pleased to hear the latest rumor on the Samsung Galaxy Tab. A source tipped off Boy Genius Report that the Sprint version of the Tab will go on sale November 14 (better late than never).
More importantly, the pricing seems reasonable (though not inspiring), speculated at $399 with a two-year contract, or $599 without an agreement.
The rumor doesn't state which capacity you'll get for that … Read more
