LAS VEGAS -- Samsung has just announced that two more Wi-Fi IP cameras will join its home security roster -- the $179 SmartCam HD and the $229 SmartCam HD Outdoor. Both cameras offer 1080p streaming and wide angle lenses with 128-degree fields of view. That should mean that you will get to view crisp, clear footage of your home and the surrounding outdoor area all from a Web browser or the free Android or iOS SmartCam app.
With a sticker price of $499, the Moneual Rydis H68 Pro sits within the middle of the price spectrum in terms of robot vacuum cleaners, especially compared with the $799 LG Hom-Bot Square, the $699 iRobot Roomba 790, or the $449 Neato XV Signature Pro. Versatility, however, might make it a better value.
We’ve written about other Rydis models, like the U60 Pro or the H67 Hybrid. The H68 Pro seems to be Moneual’s attempt to up the ante. Where the H67 was a vacuum and dry mop in one, the H68 combines a dry mop, a wet … Read more
If supply chain and analyst chatter is accurate, the rumored "iPad Pro" could marry the MacBook Air with the iPad.
That's what Evercore Partners analyst Patrick Wang thinks, according to a report at Barron's.
Arriving in fall '14, Apple goes Enterprise with an 12" iPad. Powered by the A8 chip...this expands ARM's reach and, once again, transforms the traditional notebook market as we know it.
Expect a 2-1 hybrid -- think iPad + MBA -- similar to how most iPads are used in the workplace and in the same spirit of MSFT's Surface.… Read more

The Koss Pro4AA has been around for ages, and when you listen you'll know why. Koss got the sound right the first time. And while contemporary headphones have more features and are lighter and more comfortable, they're nowhere as ruggedly built as the Pro4AA. This headphone will shrug off more than a few mishaps that would shatter to pieces a lot of 2013 designs.
So if you're rough on headphones, you might want to pick up a pair. And since they're covered by a lifetime warranty, Koss will keep repairing or replacing them forever. The warranty … Read more
Yearning to take apart your new $3,000 Mac Pro? The journey through its innards shouldn't be too taxing, according to a teardown from the folks at iFixit.
Hiking and hacking through the interior of the entry-level late 2013 Mac Pro, iFixit found its design closer to that of an aluminum soda can than a trash can, to which it's been ignominiously compared. Opening the cylindrical casing requires but a snap of the lock switch, thereby exposing the first layer of cards and components.
The RAM modules are easily accessible and replaceable, says iFixit, so users can max … Read more
A dearth of Surface Pro 2 and Surface 2 tablets has persisted during the holiday shopping season, though that situation may finally be easing a bit.
Are the new Surface tablets flying off the shelves or just not reaching the shelves? That's not clear because Microsoft doesn't provide sales numbers, but limited supply -- not excessive popularity -- of the tablets appears to be a factor.
The Windows 8.1-based Surface Pro 2 and Surface 2 models have been largely "out of stock" at Microsoft Stores -- both the physical stores and online stores. This situation … Read more
