Protect your photos with Secret Photos

In the last few years, the iPhone has become one of the most popular digital camera devices in the world. Millions of photos are snapped every day and stored in a relatively easy-to-access folder. With no added security beyond the initial passcode you can activate for your phone, iOS is not exactly secure - especially if you lose your phone or someone gains access to it. Secret Photos provides an added layer of security for users that want to prevent a stranger or someone without permission from accessing their personal photos.

Secret Photos is a very simple app. The first … Read more

Send and share photos between Mac and iOS device with Photos Mate

One of the more frustrating features of the iPhone and iPad is how hard it is to transfer images from a computer to the mobile device. If you're forced to use iPhoto, which can be unforgivably slow, it can take time and a lot of patience if you want to move a large number of photos from your Mac to your iOS device. That's what Photos Mate promises to resolve with its iPad and iPhone compatible photo transferring app.

The app is simple. Open it and you see a list of Available Devices. At first, the list will … Read more

Facebook Camera gives you direct photo access

Facebook is all about giving its users a one-stop-shop for all of their social needs, and Facebook Camera is another facet of that. The app lets you take pictures and immediately post them to your Facebook account. While it's not really necessary considering there are so many other ways to share photos on Facebook, it's fast and performed without a hitch.

Once you're logged in to Facebook Camera, all the photos in your News Feed from your Facebook friends appear on the screen. And just like any other status update or post, you can Like or add … Read more

Change your Facebook cover photo using the iPhone app

Facebook released an update to its iOS app this week. Included in the change log was group-messaging enhancements, along with adding the ability for users to change their cover photos.

The feature was once in the Facebook iOS app, but was removed when Facebook released the completely native, revamped iOS app. Android users received a similar native update, and shortly after its release the ability to change cover photos was added.

You will only be able to change your cover photo using the iPhone app, not from your iPad. Perhaps Facebook is trying to help stop people from taking pictures … Read more

Turn a Photo Stream album into a public Web site

Photo Stream is a great way to view photos across your various iOS devices. Snap some shots on your iPhone and -- boom! -- thanks to Photo Stream, they can be viewed in full on your iPad. That's how I have been using Photo Stream to date, but I've overlooked a feature that makes it easy to share a Photo Stream album with anyone, Apple and non-Apple folk alike. From either your iPhone or iPad, Photo Stream includes a feature that will create a quick Web site with your photos, whose link you can share as you wish.… Read more

Not every photo-editing app has to take itself seriously. This fun app has several powerful features to speak of, but the main goal is to have silly fun with your photos. Photo Wonder adds faces, props and all sorts of other bizarre goodies to your mobile gadget's photos. It's a nice novelty with enough variance to not get too dull too fast.

The app sends plenty of bad grammar and pop-over ads your way while you're trying to work. The editing canvas itself provides plenty of room and features for you to make edits. While Photo Wonder … Read more

Edit and share pictures with PicArts Photo Studio

These days your smartphone or tablet isn't complete without a photo-editing app. PicArts Photo Studio makes an admirable case for being the only photo-editing app you need. It isn't as pretty as some other apps that edit your photos, but it's just as powerful and easy to use. It sets you up for easy sharing, too.

After PicArts Photo Studio installs, it will scan your SD card and phone for photo files. That means you can't get down to editing right away, but the scan only takes a few seconds. It can import pictures from Facebook, … Read more
