Siri about to speak in (new) tongues?

Is Siri soon to get new language support? An Apple job listing is advertising for someone who is "native or fluent in Arabic, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, Korean, Norwegian, Swedish, and fluent in English" to join the team charged with delivering Siri "in different parts of the world" for a six-month stint.

A harbinger of Apple's intentions? Let the speculation begin. For the record, iMore reporter, Joseph Keller, who first noticed the posting, points out that Siri is not compatible with Swedish, Finnish, and Arabic.

Skype updates Android app with Microsoft log-in

Skype released a new app for Android devices today, and the update boasts a new design for tablets, the ability to sign in and merge with a Microsoft account, and better audio.

This is the 3.0 version of Skype, a popular choice for video chatting and messaging across the Internet for free, and it requires Android 2.1 and up.

CNET's Jaymar Cabebe concludes that the design and audio quality on the new app is a definite upgrade, but the video quality of the service is not.

Nokia's Here Maps finds its way to Apple's App Store

Nokia is going all in on mapping services for iOS.

The company yesterday launched Here Maps, a free application that provides a host of features for travelers. The mapping application is powered by Navteq data, the same information used in the majority of in-car navigation systems. Users are able to view maps and get real-time traffic data on a particular area. Here Maps also includes a satellite view and the ability to save map areas for later.
