Tim Cook: Steve Jobs told me to 'just do what's right'

Apple CEO Tim Cook said that Steve Jobs provided much-needed advice to him before he officially became chief executive.

Speaking to Bloomberg Businessweek in an interview published today, Cook said that Jobs called him one day and asked to speak with him about his plans for Apple's future. Jobs told him that he would recommend Cook as CEO and that he would serve as chairman. After Cook asked Jobs several times if he was sure about making that transition, Jobs told him to stop asking, and provided his reasoning for the decision.

Apple TV hinted at by CEO Tim Cook

Apple CEO Tim Cook isn't a fan of the current state of television.

"When I go into my living room and turn on the TV, I feel like I have gone backwards in time by 20 to 30 years," Cook said in an interview with NBC's Brian Williams, part of an interview that will air tonight on "Rock Center." "It's an area of intense interest. I can't say more than that."

Tim Cook: Apple to pour $100M into U.S. Mac production

Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed what rumors have been suggesting in recent days: Apple is moving some Mac production to the U.S.

Speaking to Bloomberg in an interview published today, Cook said that factories in the U.S. will handle "some" of the Mac production currently being handled internationally. The production will ramp up in 2013.

Apple CEO Tim Cook will make his first TV appearance the same day his company could find out if it's getting a bevvy Samsung's smartphones permanently banned in the U.S.

Cook was interviewed earlier today at the company's Grand Central Terminal store by NBC's Brian Williams as part of a package that will air next Thursday, NBC announced today.

Photos of the interview were leaked out earlier by media tracking blog TV Newser, showing a casually dressed Cook chatting with Williams while holding Apple's products.
