Samsung possibly working on Galaxy Premier device

Forget about the Galaxy S3 Mini. The latest Samsung rumors are swirling around a Galaxy Premier device that will be one step up from a Galaxy Nexus, but below the global GS3 in the smartphone pecking order.

According to Gotta Be Mobile which names German tech news site Mobile Geeks as the original source, the Galaxy Premier will feature Android 4.1 Jelly Bean but will be powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processor and not the fancy quad-core Exynos chip inside the global Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note II. The wait for Motorola's new Droid Razr HD and Droid Razr Maxx HD phones will soon be over. Verizon officially confirmed that Moto's fresh devices will hit store shelves on October 18.

Via Verizon's blog, the company locked down pricing and availability for both models. The Motorola Droid Razr HD will run from $199.99 ,while the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD will cost a steeper $299.99. Both devices feature large 4.7-inch HD AMOLED screens and access to Verizon 4G LTE.

T-Mobile: Today's 4G LTE is good, but ours will be great

T-Mobile USA may be behind its rivals when it comes to 4G LTE, but that doesn't mean it's mincing words about its ambitions.

AT&T and Verizon Wireless may be able to boast of a super-fast wireless connection now, but T-Mobile believes it can one-up both of them when it finally gets its LTE network rollout going next year.

It's official, BlackBerry 10 developers: RIM has declared open season for BB10 app submissions. A recent post on the company's development blog confirms that RIM is now accepting entries for applications that specifically target the long-anticipated BlackBerry 10 operating system.

Verizon: Our 4G LTE network will soon carry most of our data

SAN DIEGO -- The majority of Verizon Wireless's data traffic will soon be traveling over the company's new 4G LTE network, Verizon Wireless CTO Nicola Palmer said at a press conference at the CTIA's MobileCon tradeshow here Tuesday.

Palmer talked up the carrier's progress on deploying its LTE network. The company announced it would be deploying its 400th market next week and is two months ahead of schedule on its 4G LTE roll-out.

Verizon aims for voice over LTE in late 2013, early 2014

Verizon Wireless plans to launch voice over LTE services by late 2013 or early 2014, according to a networking executive for the carrier.

Consumer trials will begin in late 2013, with service to follow, likely in the subsequent year, Nicola Palmer, vice president of network and chief technical officer for Verizon Wireless, said in an interview with CNET. The target date is a bit more specific than previously announced, with Verizon Chief Financial Officer Fran Shammo calling for a rollout in 2013. Verizon to blow past year-end 4G target, covering 417 markets

Verizon Wireless said today that it would surpass its year-end goal of blanketing 400 markets with 4G LTE two months ahead of schedule.

On October 18, the company will have covered 417 U.S. markets with its super-fast wireless network, extending its overwhelming lead over the other carriers. Its 4G LTE was the focal point of the carrier's presentation at the MobileCon wireless trade show this week.

Nokia Lumia 810 brings Windows Phone 8 to T-Mobile

T-Mobile added another Windows Phone 8 handset today by announcing the Nokia Lumia 810. A variant of the previously announced Lumia 820 that's optimized for T-Mobile's network, the Lumia 810 will be available "in the coming weeks."

The Lumia 810 will deliver a 4.3-inch display, interchangeable covers in cyan and black, an 8-megaixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, a 1.2-megapixel front-facing shooter, Nokia Music and Nokia Maps, and support for T-Mobile's HSPA+ data network.
