Motorola's Honeycomb tablet sneaks into wild

During last week's All Things D conference, Google's Andy Rubin gave the world a sneak peek at an upcoming Motorola tablet running the long-awaited tablet-optimized version of the Android OS, code-named "Honeycomb." This week, with far less fanfare, images of the 10-inch Motorola tablet popped up on a mobile forum offering a telling new detail: a Verizon logo.

The images don't offer many other notable details, but the tipster does spell out the specs, including 32GB of internal storage, an Nvidia Tegra 2 T20 dual-core processor, gyroscope sensor, a display resolution of 1,280x800 pixels, front and rear cameras (2MP/5MP), a 1GHz system processor, microSD support, 512MB of RAM, and wireless connections for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, and LTE. … Read more

Report: Placards say white iPhone due in spring

Apple's long-overdue white iPhone will finally hit the market in the spring, at least according to new placards apparently popping up in Apple stores.

Nestled amid the fine print on the signs is a brief line noting that the white iPhone will be available in spring 2011, according to Apple-enthusiast site 9to5 Mac.

The placards may be confirmation of Apple's late-October promise that the white device will go on sale in the spring following a series of delays. At the time, Apple issued a statement saying, "We're sorry to disappoint customers waiting for the white iPhone … Read more

The rumored Sony PlayStation phone has been spotted again, this time getting captured in video form.

A Greek gadget blog has roughly 2 minutes of blurry footage of someone reportedly playing with the device. AT&T Facebook account confirms Motorola Olympus

An AT&T Facebook account confirmed the existence of an upcoming Motorola handset yesterday, outing the Olympus for all to see.

A Boy Genius Report reader asked the AT&T Share team whether he would be wise to wait on the Tegra-2-powered smartphone as he is eligible for an upgrade. The carrier's response, which was quickly pulled, was that the phone will be available in either December or January.

Previous rumors suggested that the Olympus would arrive in early 2011, possibly in time for CES at the top of the year. I doubt that the phone will … Read more

Taking a peek at Samsung's early 2011 Android plans

Last week, Engadget posted photos of another Samsung Android handset, and quite a promising one at that. Listed without a codename, the device should be a flagship phone due in February of next year.

Although images appear to be mock ups hastily thrown together for the sake of presentation, it's the rumored hardware that I'll focus on. The slides show the smartphone as having either a 4.3-inch or 4.5-inch "sAMOLED2" touch display. I don't know about you, but I love the idea of Samsung releasing a phone with a screen size that rivals … Read more

A handful of month-old pictures surfaced online today showing what appears to be the Samsung follow-up to the Nexus One. After news of Best Buy's accidental mention of a Nexus S today, we're starting to see things unfold rather quickly. At this stage, it's not a matter of whether or not the phone exists, but rather a question of when it will appear.

FCC documents are shedding light on the model number for what turn out to be the Nexus S. As pointed out by Android Community, the GT-i9020 looks identical to the images provided to Engadget, … Read more

Report: Facebook event Monday relates to Office

Facebook is holding an event next week as part of the Web 2.0 Summit taking place in San Francisco, and, according to ZDNet, the topic du jour will be deeper integration between the 500 million user-strong social network and Microsoft's Office Web Apps service.

Facebook and Microsoft already collaborate on a variant of the Web-based Office suite called Docs, which the two companies launched together in late April. However, ZDNet says that this new version will be more closely integrated into Facebook's in-box experience, which is said to be getting an overhaul that builds in Microsoft's … Read more

First Look at presumed Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 successor

The first images and preliminary details for Sony Ericsson's presumed Xperia X10 successor have made their way online. And according to the source that passed on the tips to the Unofficial Xperia X10 blog, the device is "very, very slim."

Codenamed Anzu, or X12, the handset should feature a 4.3-inch screen and HDMI output, two increasingly common smartphone characteristics. Given the "HD" markings on the back of the phone, the video camera should record in 1080p resolution. The X10 has an 8.1-megapixel camera, so I would assume this phone has at least that … Read more
