The Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch will be a Jelly Bean-powered device with a 2.5-inch OLED display with a 320x320-pixel resolution, if reports by AmongTech prove true.
In addition, the Gear could come in two different storage capacities: 6GB and 8GB options. Other specifications in the concept device include a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, a 4-megapixel camera capable of 720p video recording, and 1GB RAM, with a battery life up to 10 hours.

Apple's long-rumored iWatch might be beaten to the market by a Samsung alternative, according to one Samsung executive.
Speaking to Korea Times in an interview published on Tuesday, Samsung's executive vice president of mobile Lee Young-hee said that the company plans to unveil a smartwatch on September 4, to be known as "Galaxy Gear."
According to Lee, Gear will be a "concept device." It's not clear whether that means it won't launch soon or if Samsung is using the "concept" moniker as a marketing ploy.

Samsung will join the growing smartwatch market with a new device slated to debut early next month, according to the folks at Bloomberg.
Citing information from "two people familiar with the matter," Bloomberg said on Friday that Samsung will reveal the Galaxy Gear on Wednesday, September 4, two days before the IFA trade show opens in Berlin.
