Droid DNA could be Verizon's 5-inch HTC Android

More details have bubbled up about the rumored 5-inch HTC handset slated to hit Verizon this fall, including its name.

Previously thought to be the Droid Incredible X, DIX, or DLX a copy of a Verizon document suggests that the supersize smartphone will take on the name Droid DNA, according to AndroidCentral.

If the document is correct, Verizon will list the HTC6435LVW handset for $199.99 on November 20, just in time for Black Friday and the holiday shopping season.

The wait for Motorola's new Droid Razr HD and Droid Razr Maxx HD phones will soon be over. Verizon officially confirmed that Moto's fresh devices will hit store shelves on October 18.

Oops! Anti-Apple Maps ad reveals Google Maps' own failing

Everyone knows that Apple is dealing with a firestorm of criticism over problems with its new iOS 6 Maps feature, but a new ad for Google-owned Motorola Mobility's Droid Razr may have crossed the line.

The ad, which appeared on September 21 on Motorola's Google+ site, shows a Razr alongside an iPhone 5, and reads, "Looking for 315 E 15th in Manhattan? Google Maps on Droid Razr M will get you there & not #iLost in Brooklyn."
