New iPod Nano sports a 2-inch screen

The new iPod Nano will please people who've been craving a larger display. But those who want to wear one as a watch are out of luck.

Apple said today that it wanted to "reinvent the product," and it's done just that. The new Nano sports a 2-inch, multitouch screen, almost resembling a traditional MP3 player. The latest model is also 40 percent thinner than the sixth-generation version.

A new volume rocker on the side lets users play, pause, and scroll through the music, while the built-in FM tuner includes a live pause feature.

First iPhone 5 case arrives (hands-on)

If the iPhone case fits, acquit.

Last year, Hard Candy Cases released an iPhone 5 case before the iPhone 5 actually was announced and got a little mud on its face when it didn't fit the iPhone 4S. It wasn't even close. (Hard Candy chalks it up to faulty intelligence and perhaps even some diversionary tactics by Apple).

Well, after last year's small embarrassment, Hard Candy is at it again, announcing the ShockDrop case for iPhone 5. And I just got received the new Gumdrop Drop Tech Series iPhone 5 case ($44.95) in the mail about … Read more

Apple accidentally outs iPhone 5 name, LTE support, and new iPods

Apple's next-generation smartphone will be called the iPhone 5, according to an inactive link accidentally posted on the company's own Web site hours before the highly anticipated device is expected to be announced in San Francisco.

By searching Apple's Web site for the term "iPhone 5," the search results yield a listing to a press release primed for later today. In the address listing, it says: "Apple-Introduces-iPhone-5," giving a fairly clear indication of what the forthcoming device will be called, 9to5Mac reported earlier today.

The link appears dead at this stage and the … Read more
