Last year Philips won our best of CES award with the Eco TV, and in 2009 other companies are following suit with their own green TVs. The Samsung UNB6000 series of Samsung LCDs is "eco-friendly", with the company claiming 40% or more energy savings over traditional LCDs. The sets also put a focus on energy usage by including a power indicator menu and an optimized energy savings mode, which dynamically adjusts settings to conserve power. Samsung unveils the MBP-200 Pico Projector

Samsung has revealed the updated MBP200 Pico Projector, which promises to be an updated version of the MBP-100 Pico Projector it released last year. As the name suggests, it's a tiny portable projector that can transform your little 2-inch handheld display into as big as a 50-inch viewing area. Samsung continues DisplayLink support

Samsung is no stranger to DisplayLink technology, which lets multiple monitors connect to a single system via USB, having supported it in the Samsung SyncMaster 940UX. Now, its DisplayLink support continues with the Samsung SyncMaster 2243QW.

Going forward, Samsung is designating displays that use DisplayLink technology as a part of its Ubisync line.

With the DisplayLink technology, up to six monitors can be daisy-chained to one system, as long as all six support DisplayLink. This lets you to have a multimonitor setup without investing in a separate video card as everything is done through USB.

SanDisk, Samsung tout new Netbook, server SSDs

Both SanDisk and Samsung announced solid-state drives on Tuesday--though that's where the similarity ends. SanDisk's SSDs are aimed at Netbooks, while Samsung's new SSDs are for the high-performance server market.

SanDisk is debuting its new 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB pSSD-P2 and pSSD-S2 solid-state drives at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. Samsung's 100GB SS805 drive, on the other hand, is being introduced on Tuesday at the Storage Visions 2009 Conference, also in Las Vegas.

Samsung's 'world's first' camcorder not exactly a breakthrough

Samsung is always good for at least one "world's first" product at CES, but I have to say this one is a bit of a "meh" for me. Instead of sticking with simple flash memory for its new line of H series full HD camcorders, the company stuck solid-state drives in them. The HMX-H106, HMX-H105, and HMX-H104 feature 64GB, 32GB, and 16GB SSDs, respectively. (A fourth model, the HMX-H100, gets the features of the other models, but relies on SDHC cards for storage.
