Sprint and LG have just announced the LG Lotus, a messaging phone with a foldout QWERTY keyboard. The Lotus is the official moniker for the rumored LG LX600, which we mentioned on Crave a few weeks ago. It's one of the first Sprint devices to offer One Click, a customizable user interface that lets you organize up to eight shortcut tiles right on the landing screen.
The LG Lotus will have EV-DO support, which means it has access to Sprint's broadband and entertainment services such as Sprint TV, the Sprint Music Store, and a host of other streaming … Read more
This squat little device is purportedly the new LG LX600 for Sprint, set to debut some time in the near future. An intrepid user on the SprintUsers.com forum found this image online, and it sure looks convincing to me. The LX600 is actually a clamshell that opens up to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard.
Like the Blitz, the LX600 is a "dumb" phone made just for messaging. It also has external music player keys for the built-in music player, as well as a camera, but there doesn't seem to be too much information about the other … Read more

Attention Sidekick LX owners, starting this week T-Mobile will start rolling out over-the-air (OTA) updates that will bring some very welcome (and overdue) features to your device.
First announced alongside the Limited Edition Tony Hawk Sidekick LX, the update adds two major capabilities: video record, play, and share; and support for stereo Bluetooth headsets and file transfers. You'll also get some smaller but equally useful features, including an alarm clock, an integrated spell-checker, advanced instant-messaging functions, and more personalization options for the Web. The upgrade is free and it'll be a gradual rollout so if you don't … Read more
Starting June 15, Sprint's new Chat will be off and running in more than 40 markets nationwide. For those not in the know, QChat offers push-to-talk (PTT) interoperability between CDMA and iDEN networks for the first time. That means that customers using the new QChat phones will be able to make PTT calls to both Sprint CDMA phones and Nextel iDEN handsets.
Sprint unveiled six QChat handsets at the CTIA show two months ago Four models, the Sanyo Pro 200, Sanyo Pro 700, the LG LX400, and the Samsung Z400, will go on sale Sunday with the remaining two … Read more
What do Dwyane Wade, Diane von Furstenberg, and LRG have in common? Give up? They all have their own special edition T-Mobile Sidekick model, and now you can add professional skateboarder Tony Hawk to that list. Today, T-Mobile and Hawk introduced the T-Mobile Sidekick LX Tony Hawk Edition, which not only boasts new design elements but also new features.
Hawk, who says he's been a "loyal Sidekick user since the first model" had a hand in designing the special edition model and builds off the Sidekick LX with a slate gray shell, blue-and-white accents, and the skater'… Read more

We saw it at CTIA earlier this year, but the Katana LX has now finally launched with Sprint. The sequel to the Katana II, the Katana LX retains the same basic feature set--Bluetooth, VGA camera, and speakerphone--but it has a whole new look. The Katana LX has a much sportier look and compact shape, plus a translucent OLED front display. Sure it isn't much, but for $49.99 with a two-year service agreement, it's meant to be an entry-level phone anyway. It's available in Pacific Blue, Elegant Pink, and Liquid Graphite, and you can take a peek … Read more
Sanyo only had a couple of basic phones to show at CTIA, but there's still a market for these things, so we're fine with that. First up is the Katana LX, which is a shinier successor to the Katana II, plus it has a translucent OLED display. It only has a VGA camera however. Then there's the Pro Series phones, the Pro-200 and the Pro-700. Both of them support Sprint's new QChat push-to-talk service, and are made for business use. The Pro-700 is the more rugged version, and is military certified to withstand harsh environments like … Read more
