Preorder your Moto Cliq

The hubbub over Verizon's upcoming Droid smartphone isn't the only Google Android news Monday. T-Mobile also launched a preorder site for its new Motorola Cliq. The handset won't be available to take home until November 2, but you can reserve your Cliq now for $199 with service.

Moto Cliq: Best Android implementation yet

I know I'm not the only one staring at my clunky T-Mobile G1 right now, willing it to transform into Motorola's new Cliq. I've never been a fan of the G1's thick slab of chin rest that came as part of Google and HTC's debut of the Android platform. Motorola Cliq gets official pricing and release date

Well, how's that for timing? Just after posting a story about Motorola Cliq presales,T-Mobile dropped the official details on pricing and the availability date for the Cliq. Motorola's first Google Android smartphone will be available online and in T-Mobile stores starting November 2 for $199.99 with a two-year contract and qualifying voice and data plan.

Presales will start on October 19 and run through November 1, and devices will be shipped as orders are received. You can register for updates at T-Mobile's Web site.

T-Mobile has thrown up a promo page on its Web site, teasing the countdown to presales of the Cliq. Motorola Cliq coming to additional US carriers

T-Mobile may have an exclusive on the new Motorola Cliq for now, but Moto CEO Sanjay Jha says his company is "in talks with all large operators in U.S." to offer its Google Android handset. This news is in addition to the Cliq's entry into the European market next year under the Dext name.
