Throw away those lousy, hanging-off-your-ear buds that come with most MP3-playing cordless phones. The Plantronics Pulsar 260 gives you soft in-ear buds that jack into a stereo Bluetooth dongle with an in-line mic that clips to your shirt or lapel. The advantage of Bluetooth stereo earphones is that you don't have to swap headphones when a call comes in. But unlike bulky stereo Bluetooth headphones, you can pull one earbud out so that you're not listening to your significant other, friend or co-worker in stereo. The disadvantage is that the Pulsar dongle jack is 2.5mm, so you … Read more
We've been accused of paranoia more than a few times, but we really do believe that there's a conspiracy afoot when it comes to earphones. We submit that earbuds and the like never fit anyone (especially us), but people are too embarrassed to admit it. They instead just constantly fidget and adjust them, pretending that it's "normal."
This is why we appreciate Bluetrek's new "ST1" Bluetooth earphones, which have a novel wraparound design that's actually meant to keep the buds in your ears. Mobile Magazine says they also have built-in controls … Read more
It's take a few decades, but the technology industry is finally figuring out that one size definitely does not fit all. Recently, for example, we've seen mice and keyboards that come in mix-and-match sizes, even breaking apart in some cases.

In one of our more recent rants (there are so many to keep track of), we have been campaigning for wireless stereo speakers in the home. But in a way, Kleer has taken the concept a step further by putting them directly in the ear.
The company has launched a line of wireless earbuds that Red Ferret says can provide CD-like quality and 10 times the battery life of comparable Bluetooth technologies. The Kleer system is housed completely in the earphones themselves, eliminating the need for a wire between the left and right sides.
Although we're fond of the … Read more
V-Moda gets it. Not only does the company produce high-quality earphones, but it also makes them look good. We must digress: We're surprised at the uninspired designs of most earphones on the market--after all, unlike most tech products, they're worn on the head.
V-Moda had already introduced some impressive styles, but Popgadget points out that a new line has just come out with even more head-turning colors: metallic pink, blue, silver and polished alloy silver. As soon as we find the right one to match our comb-over, we'll be hitting the clubs.
