Serious fans of racing games on the PS3 have found the Logitech Driving Force GT to be the steering wheel of choice, with its force feedback, gearshift, and three-pedal configuration going a long way to recreating the on-track experience of Formula One, NASCAR, and so on. But that unit's $150 price tag, excess of cables, and setup requirements (it needs to be clamped to a table) made it a tough choice for all but the most dedicated race fan. More casual driving and racing aficionados will be happy, then, to see the newly announced Driving Force Wireless. While the … Read more
It turns out that we were slightly off when we said the LG Chocolate 3 would be out on July 14. Verizon just announced today that the Chocolate flip phone will actually hit the retail shelves a full day early on July 13 (In Verizon retail stores, Circuit City, as well as the online store). The LG Chocolate 3 will also be the marquee music phone for Verizon's new V Cast Music with Rhapsody deal. Indeed, with a 3.5mm headset jack, stereo Bluetooth, stereo speakers, and a built-in FM transmitter, Verizon hopes for the Chocolate 3 to be … Read more

Apparently afraid they may not be one of the first people to get their mitts on the updated iPhone tomorrow, a few of the Apple faithful have taken position in front of the downtown San Francisco Apple store. At 8:30 a.m. Thursday, there were just two people and a tent.
Drinking a hot chocolate, and clad in a sport coat and tie, Dale Larson of San Francisco proclaimed the iPhone 3G launch would be "a way bigger deal this year than last … Read more
Belkin today announced the pricing and planned availability for its FlyWire wireless HDMI accessory. The unit will eventually be available in two separate versions: a $1,500 multi-room unit set to hit in October, and a stepdown $700 model dubbed the R1, which is intended for single-room installations.
TheFlyWire wireless HDMI kit garnered a nomination for the Best of CES Awards back in January, where it successfully demonstrated the ability to wirelessly transmit uncompressed high-definition video and audio. (See a CNET TV video of the FlyWire in action after the break.)… Read more
It can be a real pain when it comes to routing speaker cables, especially those surround boomboxes mounted on the far corners of your media room. You can either draw up an elaborate plan involving trunking and false ceilings, or check out Crystal Audio's latest wireless audio transmission systems on the U.K. market: the TR-100 and TR-60.
For 399 pounds (about $787), the TR-100 provides two sets of independent transmitters and receivers to power a stereo. Each has a provision for 100-watt audio amplification and a peak effective range of 25 meters, according to AV Review. Those who … Read more
Life would be so much simpler if each problem we face had a single solution.
Of course, "simple" and "computer" are two words you rarely find in close proximity, except when you hear someone say, "My life would be so simple if I didn't own a computer."
For about two weeks, my notebook computer balked at linking to my wireless router. It would eventually connect, taking its own sweet time about it. Vista's Network and Sharing Center showed that Windows was struggling to acquire a network address.
A quick Web search indicated … Read more
We first saw a finger-mounted mouse more than a year ago, but our opinion of the idea hasn't changed much since then.
Granted, there's a new version that's wireless, which addresses one of our biggest complaints about its predecessor. But the new 3D Optical Computer Wireless Finger Mouse still looks too cumbersome to use comfortably for those of us who type about as much as we breathe on any given day.
PhoneArena has reported that LG and Verizon will introduce the third version of the coveted candy-name music phone, dubbed the LG Chocolate 3, on July 14. The VX8560 model will be the first ever Chocolate clamshell, available in both black and light blue (Though we bet there will be additional colors in the future). Some of the expected features include a microSD card slot, a 1GB of internal memory (which sounds quite impressive), a 3.5mm headset jack, a 2-megapixel camera, stereo speakers, stereo Bluetooth, and an integrated FM transmitter. The full retail price is expected to be $299, though … Read more
Headset makers probably aren't hurting for business these days, at least in California and Washington state. But even without the new laws, Nokia may have found another market.
Its "Wireless Loopset" is a device designed to hang around the neck that basically turns a t-coil-equipped hearing aid into a Bluetooth headset. In addition to providing the wireless connection, the Loopset includes such features as vibrating alerts and single-button dialing, according to Gearlog, and willl also work with cochlear implants.
While looped around the neck, the device greatly reduces the chance of interference because of its close proximity … Read more
