2011 Geneva auto show: Ferrari FF

Here's Ferrari's AWD four-passenger hatchback of sorts. The FF changes a lot of rules in Modena (but then again Ferrari is doing a lot of that these days with things like amusement parks in Abu Dhabi). Brian Cooley shows you around the startling new body and the impressive innards that move the FF.

10 fastest cars of 2011

There's no real need for a production car to go over 200 mph. Few public roads in the world allow that kind of speed, whether legally or physically. But a few automakers continually push the boundaries of speed, for the same reasons that mountain climbers scale the highest peaks.

The fastest production cars hit well over 200 mph, using big displacement or near-racing engines to achieve these speeds. Of course, all of these cars are ridiculously expensive, but the varieties of design will come as a surprise.

We've assembled photos and specifications for the current crop of fastest … Read more

Fancy a Ferrari? Rev up eBay Motors mobile app

At the Mobile Insider conference this week, representatives from mobile ad network AdMob reported that three to four Ferraris are sold each month on eBay's mobile app. The surprising statistic was confirmed by eBay Motors, which added that the eBay app for iPhone has moved 38 Ferraris since it launched last year.

But it's not just Ferraris mobile users are bidding on--members have purchased Lamborghinis and Bentleys from their mobile devices. The most expensive vehicle purchased using the iPhone app was a Mercedes SLR McLaren for $240,001. Whoever bid $240,000 for the vehicle must be kicking themselves.

These big-ticket vehicle purchases have been made through a combination of "Buy Now" selections and auctions. eBay spokesperson Angela Leon says mobile app features that alert users when they've been outbid have made it easier for members to complete sales on mobile devices.

Mobile buying and bidding of vehicles will continue to grow when eBay launches its Motors-specific app in the next few weeks.… Read more

More Ferrari FF photos

Interest in Ferrari's new family wagon must have been greater than the company expected, as four more photos were released today to complement the video and initial three photos sent out last Friday. We've added the new photos to our initial gallery, and added two more video captures of the interior.

To recap, the car is a four-seat coupe, replacing the 612 Scaglietti. It is also the first Ferrari to get an all-wheel-drive system. Hence, many scenes in the video show the car being tested on snow-covered roads. Ferrari fitted the FF with a new direct-injection 6.3-liter … Read more
