Hulu's CEO Jason Kilar could be giving up the ship

Big changes may be on the horizon for Hulu. According to an internal memo that entertainment news source Variety got its hands on, CEO Jason Kilar's jig may be up.

The three-page memo, dated from July, lists several possible changes for the streaming service, according to Variety. Of the most striking are the top two bullet points, which say this: "Outline transition plan for new CEO" and "Discuss potential candidates and process."

Marissa Mayer's priority: Fixing Yahoo search, e-mail -- WSJ

New Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer isn't yet ready to unveil her strategic plan for the company's future, but she's already setting some wheels into motion, according to a new report.

Mayer's first order of business is to improve Yahoo's search and e-mail, according to the Wall Street Journal. Symantec CEO Salem ousted for board chairman Bennett

Symantec's CEO Enrique Salem stepped down today after the company's board of directors designated chairman of the board Steve Bennett as the new president and CEO.

This executive switch-over comes as the security software giant reported an abysmal year for revenue -- second-quarter growth was just 1 percent to $1.67 billion, and profits decreased by 10 percent to $172 million, according to Bloomberg.

Scott Thompson gets new CEO gig

Scott Thompson, who left Yahoo under a cloud, has landed a CEO post once again.

Two-year-old e-commerce company ShopRunner this morning announced that Thompson is coming aboard as its chief executive. ShopRunner describes itself as a network of merchants that have banded together to deliver "multichannel shopping services" to consumers.

In May, an embattled Thompson abruptly departed Yahoo after hedge fund and Yahoo investor group Third Point discovered that his resume listed a computer science degree that he doesn't actually hold. Thompson had been CEO of Yahoo only since January.

Google's Marissa Mayer becomes Yahoo CEO

Yahoo has named Marissa Mayer, one of Google's top execs, as its next CEO, ending a hunt that began after Scott Thompson was forced out in May for padding his resume. Ross Levinsohn, who has been the interim CEO, had been considered the top candidate for the job.

Samsung appoints Kwon Oh-hyun new CEO

Samsung has replaced CEO Choi Gee-sung with the head of its components operation.

Samsung's components business chief, Kwon Oh-hyun, will now head up the company as chief executive officer. Kwon will continue to run Samsung's component business, but will now be tasked with handling "corporate-wide affairs," Samsung said today. However, the presidents of Samsung's TV and appliances and telecom and IT divisions will not report to Kwon.
