LAS VEGAS--TrendNet was one of the first networking vendors, together with D-Link, to start the green-networking initiative more than a year go. The company invented and implements what it calls GreenNet technology in most of its networking products.

The company announced Friday the latest addition to its green product portfolio, the eight-port Gigabit GreenNet switch, model TEG-S80Dg, which uses significantly less energy compared with traditional products of the same type.

LAS VEGAS--True dual-band routers are not news anymore; but TrendNet, a networking vendor with many innovative solutions, introduced one at CES 2010 that offers some original features.

The company announced Thursday its brand-new true dual-band router, the TEW-673GRU. According to TrendNet, this new router uses up to 70 percent less energy than other routers with the same features.

The router achieves this by using TrendNet's power saving GreenNet technology that reduces port-based power consumption. It also uses an Energy Star Certified power adapter that reduces energy consumption by 30 percent compared with noncertified adapters.

Trendnet's cool IP camera monitor and photo frame, the TV-M7, which debuted at CES 2009, just got a little cooler. The company announced Tuesday a firmware update for the 7-inch, wireless unit that adds two new major features to make it even more IP camera-centric.

Better late than never, Trendnet unveiled at CES 2009 its first true dual-band wireless-N router, the 300Mbps Concurrent Dual-Band Wireless N Gigabit Router, or TEW-673GR. This is the upgrade to the company's TEW-672GR, which was released five months ago and is a non-true dual-band router.

The TEW-673GR is built with an Atheros chipset and Trendnet claims that it delivers unsurpassed wireless speed. Most importantly, the router offers concurrent dual-band wireless-N performance.
