The Cingular N75 is back

After a bit and back and forth last week the Nokia N75 is officially back on sale with AT&T/Cingular. Last Friday, the N75 popped onto the carrier's Web site, only to be removed moments later. Cingular never came clean on the cell-phone hokey pokey but the same thing happened to the LG CU500v. Now a week, later both the N75 and CU500v are back on sale. The N75 is $199 with service.

Nokia N75 finally shows up at Cingular/AT&T, or does it?

Well, I'll be darned, look who finally showed up on Cingular/AT&T's doorstep: the Nokia N75. After months and months (and months) of waiting, the music-centric, 3G-loving N75 appeared on the carrier's Web site today and with very little fanfare might we add. This is just a bit curious seeing as how much hype and interest the smart phone got prelaunch, and also a bit peculiar since it seems the N75's product page is now gone from the Cingular Web site. We know it wasn't just wishful thinking on our part, because we … Read more

Nokia N800 Internet Tablet

As I sit in front of my computer, a torrent of dread washing over me as I think of my upcoming root canal, I think of what sort of thing I can buy myself to distract me from the approaching ouch. The answer, of course, is sleek mobile web surfing in the form of the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet! Supporting both WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity this little guy will be a grand companion as I lie in bed and think about how much I'd really like to eat a sandwich. Nokia N95 vs. the world

The Nokia N95 is a convergence fanboy's dream--there's a built-in sat-nav, a 5-megapixel camera, a media player, a PDA and of course, a mobile phone. But is it better than the standalone competition or is it a jack of all trades and master of none?

We've pitted the N95's component parts against five standalone devices to see if you're better off taping together all your favorite gadgets or going down the shops and picking up Nokia's flagship handset.

MusicFirst up, it's the Nokia N95 versus the iPod Nano--both play music but which … Read more

Weekend wrap

The Nokia N95 is here! Check out Bonnie Cha's First Look video on CNET TV. I took the phone home for a few days last weekend and played around with the video camera, taking shots of my dog and shooting a short description of my friends impression of the new Tarantino/Rodriguez double feature, Grindhouse. Great-looking camera and a cool phone with cool features, but as my CNET TV colleagues will tell you I am a Treo addict, so no QWERTY keyboard is a real drag for me.

Another favorite video from this week is the music show featuring … Read more

Nokia 8800 Sirocco Gold: I love gooooooold

For centuries, man's fascination with gold has produced all kinds of bizarre and wonderful objects. From sarcophaguses to Hummers, the list of things you can make or plate in shiny metal is practically endless.

Now even staid old Nokia has succumbed to the power of gold and created the Nokia 8800 Sirocco Gold, a re-release of the original 8800 Sirocco with an 18k gold-plated makeover.

This isn't the first time a mobile manufacturer has announced a gold phone--you might remember the gold Dolce & Gabbana Motorola Razr V3, but unlike the V3, the 8800 Sirocco Gold costs about … Read more

Cingular launches Nokia 2610

Cingular has just launched the Nokia 2610, a simple candybar phone with a few basic features, but nothing too fancy. They include texting, e-mail, instant messaging, a mobile Web browser, a speakerphone, and support for MP3 ring tones.

The handset also includes Nokia's new Xpress Audio Messaging, which sounds like a fancy name for phone tag (it lets you send voice clips to one another). It's available for the low price of $19.99 with a two-year agreement and an online discount.

Craving phones

Orlando isn't all fun and games, believe me! Unless, of course, you consider walking around a convention center looking for the best and coolest new mobile devices and accessories "fun and games!" Heck, when you out it that way, I guess it wasn't so bad after all. All the other video coverage is here, but I spent some time looking at devices and services that caught my eye! Take a look.
