Dish Network has offered a free iPhone app called Remote Access that allowed you to program your Dish receiver to record shows remotely. However, owners of Dish's new SlingLoaded DVR, the ViP 922, as well as the new Sling adapter for the ViP 722 or 722k, were waiting for the app to let you stream live programming to your iPhone or iPad. Dish Network subscribers can now watch content from their DVRs in full screen on Apple's iPad.

The satellite provider said today that its Remote Access app is available for free to iPad users in Apple's App Store. The app lets people watch live TV and DVR recordings, as well as manage their DVR. The service was already available on PCs, Macs, Apple's iPhone, Android-based devices, and both the BlackBerry Bold and Curve.

However, in order to get it to work, Remote Access users need much more than just the app.

Dish Network subscribers hoping to watch television wherever they go on several different devices can now do just that.

The satellite provider announced the launch yesterday of its TV Everywhere service. In order to use the service, Dish subscribers will need a Sling Media product, like the Sling Adapter, which works with the company's ViP 722 or 722k HD DVRs. The Sling Adapter connects to the DVR via USB and allows users to send content out to applications on other devices. It's available for $99 to Dish subscribers.

Starting today, Dish Network customers can buy the Logitech Revue set-top box for $179.

The discounted price is available to Dish customers who subscribe to the DVR integration service, which costs $4 per month. The Logitech Revue, which features the Google TV platform, otherwise costs $299.

Dish Network announced the reduced price for Logitech Revue last month.

Satellite television provider Dish Network is preparing to offer television programming through an online-streaming service.

According to a New York Times report, Dish Network customers will be able to watch several shows on DishOnline.com from all the major networks. Customers can also watch content from cable networks, including MTV, Comedy Central, and The History Channel, to name a few.

Dish Online has been available in public beta for a while. But starting on Tuesday, the "beta" tag will be removed, and customers can watch content.

Cable companies' fight to keep local sports broadcasts out of the hands of some competitors is heating up as satellite and phone companies pressure regulators to take action.

On Friday, satellite TV provider Dish Network said it would file a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission against Comcast for withholding the rights to broadcast regional sports in Philadelphia. Comcast's SportsNet channel owns the rights to broadcast live games for Philadelphia's major sports teams, including the Phillies, Flyers, Sixers, and Eagles.
