Windows 8 could be released to manufacturing by April, according to a "not so crazy" rumor offered by Mary Jo Foley of CNET sister site ZDNet.

In her column yesterday, Foley cited a "trusted source," who says that Microsoft is currently on track for Windows 8 to be released to manufacturing by April. RTM, or release to manufacturing, is the final version of a product just before it reaches consumers. Apple seeds second beta of iOS 5 to devs

Apple this afternoon made available a second beta of iOS 5 to its developers. It's the first update Apple's provided to the upcoming operating system since taking the wraps off it at the company's annual developers conference earlier this month.

Besides bug fixes to the first beta, the new version of the software brings the Wi-Fi Sync feature to the Mac. How to view the hourly weather forecast on iOS 5

Apple releases iTunes 10.3 with iCloud beta

Apple has released iTunes 10.3 (Download for Mac or Windows), which includes initial support for Apple's new iCloud features.

Officially unveiled at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference yesterday, iCloud is the company's upcoming replacement for MobileMe.
