Winklevoss twins press Facebook case in Boston

Reports that the Winklevoss twins had decided to drop their legal dispute against Facebook and its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, were apparently premature.

Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss and partner Divya Narendra, who have accused Zuckerberg of stealing their idea to create the social-networking giant, filed a motion today in U.S. District Court of Massachusetts to ask the court to determine whether Facebook and Zuckerberg "intentionally or inadvertently suppressed evidence."

Winklevoss twins drop Facebook lawsuit

Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss and partner Divya Narendra have decided to drop their long-running legal dispute with Facebook and CEO Mark Zuckerberg and accept their $65 million settlement.

The twins and Narendra, classmates of Zuckerberg at Harvard, announced last month it would ask the U.S. Supreme Court hear their case against the social-networking giant and its co-founder. However, in a filing today with the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, they said that "after careful consideration," they would not file their petition with the Supreme Court.

Facebook applauded the decision to drop the case.

Winklevoss twins taking Facebook case to Supreme Court

Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, along with partner Divya Narendra, have one last card to play in their legal battle with Facebook.

The twins' attorneys announced yesterday that they intend to file a petition with the U.S. Supreme Court, asking the high court to hear their case against Facebook and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg.

The petition stems from a settlement the Winklevosses and Narendra signed with the world's largest social network in 2008 after claiming Zuckerberg stole their idea for a social-networking site they called ConnectU. Facebook foes lose appeal

The real-life drama between Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg appears to be over, as a federal appeals court judge tells the twin brothers to accept their $65 million settlement with Facebook and move on.

On Monday the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth District ruled in favor of Facebook, and upheld the 2008 settlement agreed to by Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss and their partner Divya Narendra (See the ruling here (PDF)).

Leaked docs rehash Winklevoss-Facebook drama

Previously sealed court documents leaked to gossip site Radar Online reveal that Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, the identical twins who became famous through their portrayal in the film "The Social Network," are continuing their legal action against Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and that Facebook unsurprisingly continues to denounce the claims.

To clarify: This isn't actually a new lawsuit, as a handful of media outlets reported yesterday following a report in the Daily Mail about the Winklevosses suing Facebook again. The U.K. outlet subsequently took down its story.

It must have been quite the unwanted holiday gift: CNET has learned that there's a new lawsuit on the table against Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, the identical twins who alleged that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg stole their code and business plan--and who will be prominent supporting characters in the forthcoming film "The Social Network."

Sixth place in Beijing for twin ConnectU founders

The 2008 Olympics in Beijing are over for Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, the founders of would-be Facebook rival ConnectU who earned spots on the U.S. rowing team.
