Charge two iPads at once with Qmadix Twin Tablet Charger 4.2

To many of you, one USB car charger is just as good as the next, but if you've ever tried to plug your shiny new iPad or massive screened smartphone into a cheapy charger, odds are you quickly learned how wrong you were.

Not all powered USB ports are created equally. Most USB car chargers output about 0.5A of charging power, which is a massive jump over the original "low load" USB standard of just 0.1A. iTwin USB device now Mac-friendly

Sharing large files can be a pain, especially if you have to carry sensitive data around on a USB drive or worry about the potential security loopholes of storing it on a cloud service. While gimmicky inventions like the vibrating USB drive get us excited for a minute, iTwin has an innovative solution for tackling the security concerns of toting important files on a portable device. The two-part USB drive, which hooks up two computers remotely by transferring files over the Internet, has expanded its file-sharing service to Mac OS X users.

Unlike a USB device that stores data on an actual gadget, iTwin's device only requires the user to install software once. With the plug-in, the user can stick the iTwin into the USB port to share files. When the user wants to take those files to another computer, he has to unplug the "twin" piece of the device and bring it with him from a home computer to a work computer, for instance.

The only requirement is that both computers be connected to the Internet before the files can be sent through military-level encryption. Also, the second piece must physically plug in to the second computer, which adds an extra layer of security. The extra paranoid can set up a password for even more security. If the USB device gets lost, the owner will have the option to deactivate it. … Read more

"With just a saliva sample, we can accurately predict a person's age without knowing anything else about them," says principal investigator Dr. Eric Vilain, a professor of human genetics, pediatrics and urology, in a UCLA news release.

Ion's 'double-lens' Twin Video camcorder ships

We saw an early mock-up of Ion's dual-lens Twin Video mini camcorder at last year's CES. Now, almost a year later, the product is finally shipping, and it doesn't really look like the mock-up. However, it still has two lenses that allow you to shoot rear and front video feeds with the touch of a button.

What's the purpose of that? Well, the idea is that the person shooting the video can easily--and smoothly--get in on the action. Ion's billing the Twin Video as perfect for "blogging, interviewing, and creating videos with an easy-to-use, … Read more
