Three years after Sony introduced Netflix for the PlayStation 3, the two companies jointly announced today that the gaming system stands as the most popular option for delivering the service to the living room.

Sony Music Unlimited for $1 a month

Sony has announced that PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to add Music Unlimited Premium membership to their accounts for a limited time at $12 per year.

The PlayStation store update is due to go live later today (November 20) and represents a saving of 90 percent based on the regular price of $10 per month, while non-PlayStation Plus members can sign up for a discounted $60 yearly rate instead.

A PlayStation Plus account costs $49.99 a year, so buying Plus and Music Unlimited together makes more sense while the deal is running.

Sony to take aim at iPhone, Galaxy S3 in upcoming 'flagship' handset

Sony's mobile division is gunning for Apple and Samsung, one of its executives claims.

In an interview with Financial Times Deutschland (FTD) published yesterday, Sony Mobile sales and marketing head Dennis Van Schie said his company is planning to announce a "flagship model that can [compete] with Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy S3."

Sony: We've sold 70 million PS3 consoles worldwide

The venerable PlayStation 3 has hit the milestone of 70 million consoles sold, not long after the rival Xbox reached that same tally.

The PS3 crossed the 70 million line on November 4, Sony Computer Entertainment announced this morning. Launched in 2006, the game console has gone through a number of revisions and appears to still be going strong.
