Star Wars, Angry Birds mash-up? Yes, please

A mash-up between "Star Wars" and Angry Birds may be coming soon.

Rovio, owner of the popular Angry Birds franchise, today updated its Tumblr blog with an animated image of a something -- presumably a very Angry Bird -- wearing a Jedi robe and holding a lightsaber.

The post says the company will have "behind-the-scenes content, animations, comics, and much, much more" on the page over the next few weeks.

A new variation of Angry Birds teased by game maker Rovio could find you on the side of the pigs.

A lone red Angry Bird nestled on Rovio's Bad Piggies Web site is innocently minding his own business. But click on that bird, and a torrent of pigges rain down upon him until he's flooded by his green attackers.

Hackers posted more than 450,000 login names and passwords of Voices users, and it was said to be done as a wake-up call to Yahoo and others to step up security. Angry Birds to land on Samsung TVs

After soaring into the PC and mobile world, Angry Birds is flapping into its next arena -- smart TVs.

Samsung today announced the launch of a new Angry Birds app (English translation) designed for certain of its smart TVs.

Tapping into Samsung's Smart Interaction gesture recognition, game players will be able to use gestures and voice commands to target the angry birds in their battle against the pigs.

Rovio tries to strike gold twice with Amazing Alex launch

Rovio's Angry Birds is still the top game in the mobile arena. But now, the company is trying something new.

The developer announced today that it has launched Amazing Alex for iOS and Android. The game will allow players to take control of 35 objects that can be set in motion to create a Rube Goldberg device. The objects can "bounce, pop, ricochet, bash, and crash into each other," Rovio says. The game is launching with 100 levels.
