Sony confirms Lulzsec compromised server data

Sony Pictures tonight confirmed that some of its Web sites were breached yesterday.

In a joint statement, Sony Pictures Chairman and CEO Michael Lynton and Co-chairman Amy Pascal said the company has contacted the FBI in an attempt to find out who was behind the cyberattack.

Yesterday a group of hackers calling themselves Lulzsec brashly taunted Sony on Twitter saying it would "embarrass" the company by posting data stolen from the company's servers. At E3, will Sony address the elephant in the room?

The E3 Expo is normally an ideal promotional event for the big three gaming hardware companies. Hordes of fans, the gaming press, and business partners hang on Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo's every word at this show to hear about the new game console or game platform they'll be introducing.

Hackers steal more customer info from Sony servers

A group of hackers said today that they have broken into several Sony Web sites and compromised the personal data of more Sony customers.

The group, which calls itself "Lulzsec," is the same group that posted fake news stories on PBS.com over the weekend.

They have been promising Sony attacks since this past weekend, a plan they called "the beginning of the end" for Sony.
