Get the HTC Droid Incredible for free

The HTC Droid Incredible may not be the Rolls Royce of Android-powered smartphones, but it's definitely one of the Cadillacs. CNET awarded it four stars and an Editors' Choice--and that was back when it was selling for $199.99.

Starting today, Wirefly has the Droid Incredible for free when you sign up for a two-year Verizon contract. The offer is good for both new and existing Verizon customers, and even for add-a-lines and family plans (meaning you could get up to five Incredibles for free).

More photos emerge of PlayStation phone

More photos emerge of PlayStation phone

The tale of the not-yet-announced PlayStation phone continued today after Engadget posted photos of a Sony Ericsson slider handset sporting full gaming controls and the Android OS. Sony Ericsson has yet to confirm the existence of such a device, but the photos certainly look like the real thing.

From the outside, the GSM smartphone shares only a passing resemblance to Sony Ericsson's first Andorid handset, the Xperia X10. It has the same thin menu controls below the display and black color scheme, though the ends are more rounded. Slide up the face, however, and you'll see the expansive … Read more

Verizon rumored to launch Droid Incredible HD on November 23

Back in August, the Boy Genius Report posted the first images of what was said to be an Evo 4G-like device destined for Verizon. Described as polished and being at the "very upper-end of the market," the images of the phone revealed a sleek handset with a 4.3-inch touch screen, an 8-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, and a front-facing camera. But just as quickly as the phone came onto our radar, it went away.

Now, however, it's back on our scope after an administrator on Droid Forums tapped the phone with the name of Droid Incredible … Read more

First look at LG handset with LTE capability

Engadget obtained a couple of images that show a very sleek-looking LG handset bearing Verizon Wireless branding.

As Engadget reports, there are very few details to share at this point, but looking closely at the touch-only phone, you can discern what appears to be a screen in the range of 4 inches or larger with a high-definition camera on the back. The right side should have a volume rocker and microSD card, and a dedicated camera button should sit on the left side. The striping down the middle of the back side appears to include logos for both DLNA and … Read more

Samsung to reveal new Android phone Nov. 8

Save the date, cell phone fans. Samsung sent out media invites this morning for a November 8 event in New York where it plans on announcing its new Android phone. Unfortunatley, the invite doesn't offer up very many clues as to the identity of the device, but I'm sure that won't stop people from talking. Of course, we'll be there live to cover it all, too, so be sure to tune in November 8 at 3 p.m. PT for the official unveiling.

Android 2.1 finally comes to Moto T-Mobile Cliq

After an agonizingly long four-month delay, T-Mobile Cliq owners at long last are able to grab Android 2.1 Eclair for their year-old phones.

Motorola and T-Mobile yesterday started actively seeking up to 2,000 users to test out the first, and likely last, update for the smartphone. Today, the handset maker followed up by launching a support page to help guide customers through the process.

Many Android users have taken for granted some of the things that Cliq owners will see. For example, they're just now getting speech-to-text, turn-by-turn navigation, voice search, resizable widgets, seven home screens, and … Read more
