What is it? Denon's budget A/V receiver is more expensive than some, but its ample feature set and superior sonics are worth it. Why students need it: HTIBs are fine for the masses, but students who are serious about audio and home theater--those who already have a favorite set of speakers, for instance--will want to upgrade to a full-featured A/V receiver such as the $499 Denon AVR-1804.
