They're everywhere! As soon as Intel released details of its new dual-core mobile platform, laptop manufacturers announced a slew of new products that include the chip formerly known as Yonah.

It's not the first I've heard of the concept, but it's the first time I've seen it live and in person: the emerging technologies section of the Toshiba booth has a notebook with a display that detaches from the keyboard base. Away from the base, the... ( read more )
Toshiba shows first laptop with HD-DVD drive

Last year saw built-in cellular networking become an option on select Sony and ThinkPad laptops; this morning, HP joined the fray with its announcement of the nc6140.
