Grandiose games such as Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 have system requirements that'll sizzle the processor of the average laptop. Still, gamers need not be tethered to their desks or desktop PCs to engage in high-performance gaming.
The days of the hot, heavy, and humongous Pentium 4 gaming machine are numbered. In its place comes a new breed of gaming laptop powered by powerful Pentium M processors, with big high-res screens and prime-time graphics chips.
At the moment, the Dell XPS Gen 2, equipped with a top-shelf Pentium M processor and a mighty graphics engine, is the most powerful and portable gaming machine we've seen. We anticipate seeing more and more of these potent but portable laptops in the near future
