A Minnesota couple uses technology to help display their artistic talents and their down-to-earth personalities.
A Norman Rockwell feel combined with contemporary styling. That's how homeowners Steve and Debbie Petrone describe their new digs in Minnesota. Like the subjects depicted in Rockwell's famous paintings, the Petrones are open, friendly, down-to-earth people. And it shows in the warm and open floor plan, the comfy sofas and chairs, and the soft wall colors they chose for their 6,500-square-foot abode. "Still, we both have a very strong creative flair," Steve comments. "We've been running a printing company for 40 years, so our world has revolved around hugely creative people," explains Steve. "It's helped us become extremely sensitive to textures and colors." But getting two distinctly different styles to work together wasn't easy. It took the Petrones and their architect three years to get the design just right. "When you invest this much time, energy, and creativity into building a home like this, you want to make sure that you'll be able to put in the systems you want now, then upgrade them and change them later," Steve says.
