![]() The product: X2, thanks to a strategic relationship with motherboard manufacturer Micro-Star International (MSI), announced an entire line of notebooks; one for just about every type of user. Included is the 6.4-pound Mega Book M620, which features the added convenience of an Instant On function, allowing you to watch DVDs or listen to music without booting. Extending the usefulness of this feature is a slim remote control that's stored in the laptop's PC Card slot. A 2.1-speaker system (there's a subwoofer on its belly) adds to the fun. The prospects: This isn't the first time we've seen an entertainment-oriented notebook or the Instant On feature, but it is certainly one of the least expensive examples. Those in the market for a competent, workhorse laptop with a healthy helping of multimedia abilities should look into the X2 Mega Book M620.
