![]() Mobo maker partners up for notebook line January 21, 2005; 2:30 p.m. ![]() The product: X2 didn't hold back when it came time to launch its products: the new consumer electronics company dropped more than 25 different devices simultaneously. In that number is an entire line of notebooks, thanks to a strategic relationship with motherboard manufacturer Micro-Star International (MSI). Included is the 4.1-pound Mega Book S270. Available in three colors (black, silver, and white), with plans for a pink model later this year, the ultraportable offers up some good features other than its light weight:
The prospects: We're not keen on X2’s choice of processor--the typically underperforming AMD Mobile Athlon 64. However, the Mega Book S270 should do the trick for anyone longing for a stylish ultraportable minus the high cost usually attached to lightweight laptops.
