CES 2005: The Next Big Thing
Samsung updates its network-
ready color laser printer

January 7, 2005; 1:02 p.m.
Samsung CLP-510 printer series
The product: The ancestor to the new Samsung CLP-510 printer was one of the first color lasers to feature wireless connectivity. Both models in this series come with network-ready Ethernet ports, while 802.11b connectivity is built into the CLP-510N model. Printers in this series also offer the following:
  • Built-in duplexer
  • Vendor-rated 25ppm grayscale, 6ppm color printing
  • 64MB of RAM upgradable to 192MB
  • 250-sheet paper tray, plus 100-sheet auxiliary tray
  • Windows, Mac, and Linux compatible
  • USB 2.0 port
The price: $449.99 for the CLP-510, $549.99 for the CLP-510N

The prospects: We liked this printer's speedy predecessor, the Samsung CLP-500, and hope that the 510 will improve the black text output.
