![]() Pixa rolls out loaded portable DVD player January 6, 2005; 4:04 p.m. ![]() The product: Upping the ante in the hot portable DVD player category, Pixa's MP-810 features wireless headphone support and comes with a plug-in TV tuner. It has an 8.4-inch wide-screen LCD and can hook up to a game console to serve as a portable monitor. Pixa claims the MP-810 can run for three hours before its battery needs recharging. The price: The Pixa MP-810 is available now for $299. The prospects: The MP-810's new features are designed to keep young backseat riders' complaints to a minimum during road trips. Wireless headphones prevent kids from getting tangled up in cords, and the TV tuner comes in handy in case you don't have any DVDs in the car. However, you'll need to attach an antenna to the roof of your car to get decent reception, which may limit this feature's appeal.
